A senior government official, presently in the Ministry of Mines, Mr. Vivek Kumar Bajpai, is renowned for his dynamic leadership in various turnkey projects. He held pivotal roles in various capacities under the Indian Railways, primarily in the field of automation, upgradation and capacity augmentations.

Appointment
Mr. Bajpai was appointed to the Hindustan Zinc Board of Directors on July 24, 2024, as a government nominee. Mr. Bajpai is a Joint Secretary (Metals) in the Ministry of Mines, which involves the administration of PSUs and international cooperation in the fields of minerals and metals, among others.
Experience Â
As the Indian Railway Service Mechanical Engineers Cadre Officer (IRSME), Mr. Bajpai worked in the Indian Railways under various capacities, heading several turnkey projects. Â He joined the Ministry of Textiles on Deputation in April 2022 as the Additional Development Commissioner (Handlooms), heading various cluster-based interventions for the welfare of handloom workers.
