CSR

India’s rise is a defining story of our time, and it is a journey powered by the earth’s most essential minerals. At Hindustan Zinc, we recognize that our leadership carries a profound responsibility: to ensure that the metals of the future are mined with a conscience.
We view our operations through a holistic lens—where operational excellence meets environmental stewardship. As a member of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), we don’t just follow global standards; we strive to set them. From pioneering the shift to renewable energy in our mines to achieving water positivity, we are proving that heavy industry can thrive in harmony with nature.
Our transformation is fuelled by innovation and a culture of 'People First.' We are building a future-ready organization that mirrors India’s boldest ambitions - one that is inclusive, technologically advanced, and deeply rooted in the upliftment of our communities. We aren’t just mining metal; we are enabling a circular economy that will sustain generations to come.

Safety is a core priority at Hindustan Zinc. With six consecutive fatality-free quarters across operations, recognised by the British Safety Council and Apex India, we continue to embed a strong safety culture through upgraded technologies, rigorous protocols, and training initiatives that engage employees, partners, and communities at every level.

With over 600 women employees, we’re redefining mining as an inclusive sector. Our all-women underground rescue teams, transgender inclusion, Zinclusion programme, gender affirmation and parenthood policies, and the prestigious ‘Ardhnarishwar’ award reflect our commitment to equity, empowerment, and breaking workplace barriers.

Ranked #1 globally for climate and water action by CDP and validated by SBTi, Hindustan Zinc leads green transformation in mining. From EV and LNG-powered logistics to India’s first fumer and renewable energy agreements, we are actively shaping a low-carbon, circular economy with a clear net-zero roadmap by 2050.

Our CSR footprint now spans 3,500+ villages, impacting millions of lives through education, healthcare, skill-building, and empowerment programmes. Highlights include an MoU with India Post Payments Bank and our award-winning Zinc Football Academy, whose talent now represents India on international platforms like the SAFF Championship.
