With over 33 years of rich experience, Mr. Arun Misra is a dynamic leader and a seasoned professional in the metal and mining industry. His leadership has been instrumental in steering the company towards growth and innovation.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur.
Diploma in Mining and Beneficiation from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
Diploma in General Management from CEDEP, France.
Appointment
Mr. Arun Misra was appointed the CEO and Whole Time Director, Hindustan Zinc Limited, on August 1, 2020, before which he was the Deputy CEO. He joined the company after spending over two decades at Tata Steel, where he held various leadership positions and portfolios, including mining and plant operations.
Experience
Mr. Misra began his illustrious career in 1988 with Tata Steel as the Maintenance Head, Electricals, West Bokaro Coal Washery. Over the next three decades, he held several leadership positions, including Vice-President and MD at Tata Steel SEZ. He joined Hindustan Zinc Limited in 2019, and in a short span, ensured the company retained its number 1 ranking globally. Under his leadership, the company received the S&P Global Corporate Responsibility Assessment 2023 for sustainability in the metal and mining sector.
Awarded ‘CEO of the Year’ 2021 by the World Leadership Congress and Awards.
