Udaipur, 24th May 2022: Hindustan Zinc, India’s only and world’s second-largest integrated zinc-lead-silver producer, has held a month-long summer camp at Vidya Bhawan Premises in Udaipur as part of its flagship Shiksha Sambal program. Over 200 students will attend this month-long summer camp to learn subjects such as discipline, study, sports, and personality development while living away from home. This educational opportunity would be explored by students from Jawar, Pantnagar, Chittorgarh, Agucha, Dariba, Debari, and Kayad.
The Shiksha Sambal programme, administered by Hindustan Zinc, would involve around 1000 students from government schools in the five districts of Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, and Ajmer, as well as Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. These training camps integrate students with science, math, and English subjects, as well as physical, athletic, intellectual, and cultural activities, for their complete growth. This summer camp is an educational experiment in association with Hindustan Zinc that will bring honour to the institution and students. In residential camps, efforts are being made to make education relevant so that students receive the most benefit.
The summer camp was organised at Senior Secondary School by Hindustan Zinc in association with the Vidya Bhawan Society, Udaipur. The summer camp hosted from May 23rd to June 22nd will be attended by 200 students from 10th grade and 49 students from 12th-grade. More than 800 Students benefit from 14 similar camps organised by Hindustan Zinc in Jawar, Dariba, Debari Chittorgarh, Agucha, and Kayad. The growing popularity of this residential camp, which began as a pilot programme six years ago, attests to its success. This programme and camps are distinguished by the company’s emphasis on improving educational outcomes and methodology.
Hindustan Zinc has always been committed to the overall development of rural students through the Shiksha Sambal program. This curriculum has benefited students who have felt under-trained in school for the past 13 years. Sports and cultural programs such as skill development, behaviour, and other activities, as well as teaching in summer training camps, are being used to help students improve their personal and academic lives.
Under their educational program, Hindustan Zinc provides quality education to students from classes 9th to 12th in government schools by providing teachers for subjects like Science, Mathematics, and English. Expert teachers educate students in classes 10th and 12th at this residential training camp, where they can learn quality information about several disciplines in entertaining, engaging and innovative methods. Various educational camps are being held for four years, except during the pandemic phase.
