Udaipur, 14th December 2022: To reaffirm its commitment towards reducing carbon emissions, Hindustan Zinc observed “No Vehicle Day” for the 2nd consecutive year across its operations on Energy Conservation Day. All the employees and business partners of the company used public transportation, electric vehicles, cycled, or walked to the office, creating a larger impact with an aim to spread awareness on optimizing energy consumption and minimizing automobile pollution to reduce carbon footprint.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Arun Misra CEO of Hindustan Zinc said, “The sustainable efforts at Hindustan Zinc are driven by our people, which is a part of our culture and it is well represented through the various initiative adopted by them. No Vehicle Day is one such initiative undertaken by us to achieve the core vision of Net Zero by 2050. On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, it was a moment of pride to see all the employees and business partners come together and actively participate in creating a sustainable future.”
It was a week-long celebration where various activities like switching off the light during the day, a training session on climate change, and crossword & video competitions were held for the entire Zinc Parivar. With the vision of creating a sustainable future, Hindustan Zinc encouraged children to conserve energy by adopting unique ways and creating a video about it. The fun activities resulted in huge participation which motivated them to become ESG Champions.
