Major Activities & Achievements during FY 25

  • Memorandum of Understanding with Rajasthan Government – HZL signs MoU with Rajasthan Government, to benefit over 2 lakh students annually, through addressing learning needs, pre-vocational setups and improved infrastructure for students in Government schools.
  • Bhamashah award – Hindustan Zinc shines with 6 awards at Rajasthan State’s prestigious 28th Bhamashah Awards. Hindustan Zinc was Honoured for Elevating Over 2 Lakh Rural and Tribal Children Every Year.
  • Integrated Science Lab at GGIC Pant Nagar – Hindustan Zinc developed an Integrated Science Lab at Government Girls Inter College (GGIC), Pant Nagar, Uttarakhand in partnership with The Society for All Round Development (SARD) benefitting around 884 students from 20+ Govt schools.
  • ‘Book for Friend’ Initiative – The innovative “Book for Friend” and ‘Reading Mela’ activities, aimed at enhancing language skills and fostering a love for reading, have positively impacted 6,524 students across 71 schools in six locations this year. These one-day events are designed to boost learning confidence through out-of-class experiences of students of classes in classes VI to VIII.
  • Learning Camps – Beyond School Support – Learning Camps in Shiksha Sambal programme play a significant role. It provides an opportunity to engage intensively with children and provide them with necessary academic inputs. 108 residential and non-residential camps are organised across the year during the summer, Diwali and winter break of students, smoothly engaging and benefitting 5000+ students.
  • Teacher-Fellows Collaboration Model – The Teacher-Fellows Collaboration Model, piloted in 2022, is now in its third year. In the 2024-25 session, six fellows worked in seven schools across Ajmer, Agucha, and Chittorgarh, focusing on language and math skills in collaboration with subject teachers. They conducted 1,215 classes, completed 108 targeted modules, and made 13 hand-holding visits. Additionally, 32 meetings were held to discuss teaching progress and plan for Diwali and winter classes. Fellows also actively participated in co-curricular activities.
  • Classroom Teaching – During the 2024-25 session, a total of 30984 classes were conducted, surpassing the target of 30,090 classes and achieving 103% of the goal.
  • Class 10 Board Exam Results – The overall pass percentage for Class 10 board exams has risen to 95% this year. Among the 66 Shiksha Sambal schools, 23 achieved a 100% pass rate in this year’s board exams.
  • Lab and Library – for holistic student development, regular library classes and lab sessions provide hands-on practical experiences and enhance knowledge of the children. Throughout the 2024-25 session, the SSP team conducted 2,300+ library periods, significantly exceeding the target of 1,760 periods and a total of 1306 experiments were conducted during lab period.
  • Career Counselling sessions – Career counselling sessions have also been initiated for class 9 and 11 which will benefit 3000+ students of grade 9th & 11th of 72 Govt. schools. These sessions will help students explore their interests and strengths, guiding them towards suitable academic and career paths. It provides valuable insights into various professions, enabling informed decisions for their future.
