Udaipur 10th December 2023: Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta group company and India’s largest & only integrated producer of zinc, lead, and silver, supports Vedanta’s noble cause of #RunForZeroHunger. As a precursor to the marathon in Jaipur, Hindustan Zinc organized the #ZincCity Promo Run, where more than 200 people took on a picturesque journey through the heart of #ZincCity covering Fateh Sagar Lake, making it enjoyable for both seasoned runners and beginners.
After the resounding success of Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, it is time for the sunshine state of Rajasthan to lace up for the 8th edition of Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon which is scheduled on the 17th of December. In line with the company’s philosophy of contributing towards the betterment of society, Hindustan Zinc played a crucial role in amplifying the marathon & Nand Ghar’s vision of combating hunger.
Commenting on the #RunForZeroHunger Campaign, Arun Misra CEO, Hindustan Zinc & Executive Director, Vedanta said: “Marathons are a great way to bring discipline & rigor in one’s life and with Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon we have another chance to display our commitment to giving back to the communities. This marathon continues our commitment to the noble cause of ‘koi bacha rahe na bhooka’ and gives all of us a chance to contribute towards #RunForZeroHunger.
Nand Ghar is Vedanta’s flagship Anganwadi project that aims to eradicate child malnutrition, provide education, healthcare and empower women with skill development. To support the Nand Ghar initiative, 314 out of 3145 Khushi Anganwadi’s have been converted into education centers. This CSR initiative has benefited the lives of 7 crore children and 2 crore women across the country.
The #ZincCity Promo Run was aimed to promote health and fitness among the residents of Udaipur and raise awareness about the #RunForZeroHunger initiative. All participants received The Finisher’s Medal, which is made from the purest and highest-grade zinc from the world’s largest and oldest mines, produced by Hindustan Zinc.
