Hindustan Zinc Plants more than 4,500 Saplings around its Business Locations

  • Under the mega plantation drive, the company planted native species like Gulmohar, Palash, Peepal, Amaltas and many more.

Udaipur, 10th July 2023: Hindustan Zinc embarked on a remarkable initiative to contribute towards environment conservation through an extensive plantation drive across its operational units. The company planted more than 4,500 saplings near Zinc Smelter Debari, Chanderiya Smelting Complex and Zawar Group of Mines which aligned with the annual celebration of Van Mahotsav from 1st to 7th July 2023. Van Mahotsav provided a great opportunity to re-emphasis the significance of creating awareness about the importance of trees & forest and encourage people to plant more trees to maintain ecological balance. Hindustan Zinc’s under biodiversity conservation initiatives continues to organize mega plantation drives periodically.

During the week-long campaign, Hindustan Zinc’s employees came together for the plantation of native species like Gulmohar, Palash, Peepal, Amaltas and many more which best suited for the flourishment in the locality. The plantation drive contributed towards the preservation and restoration of nature’s treasures, leaving a lasting impact on the nearby communities.

Hindustan Zinc has set its target to plant 1.96 lakhs saplings across all its operational units in FY 23-24, aligning with its sustainability development goals for 2025. The company’s sustainability development goals include plantation of one million trees and company is committed to accomplish its goal sooner than the set target.
