Udaipur, 24th February 2022: Hindustan Zinc’s Rajpura Dariba Complex (RDC) Team organised a calf rally in Malikheda village, one of Dariba’s core villages, as part of Samadhan, an Agricultural and Livestock intervention project. The company held several events, including a seminar on the importance of calf health and preventive measures for various diseases, a cattle demonstration of calves born by the sorted semen technology, and a quiz competition. These activities were carried out in the presence of Mr. Hira Lal Gadri – Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Rajpura, Mr. Panna Lal Gurjar – FPO President, Dr. Baljit Puniya – Animal Husbandry Dept. Railmagra, and Dr. Anuj Dixit from BAIF (Samadhan project implementing agency).
More than 50 farmers with their calves from adjacent communities in the RDC’s operational areas took part, adhering to all COVID 19 regulations. The involvement was seen in 15 of the RDC’s core villages. Female farmers also took part in the event and activities in an equal number. The winners were selected based on the dignitaries’ and experts’ assessments. Farmers were seen actively participating in the calf rally, which was informative and enlightening overall. During the program, Mr. Abhay Gautam – RDC CSR Head briefed the attendees about the project.
