Nestled in Rajasthan’s mineral-rich Bhilwara district, Rampura Agucha Mines (RAM) hosts India’s premier zinc-lead deposit. Rampura Agucha Mine (RAM) currently produces ore at a rate of 4.8 Mtpa through underground operations. Efforts are underway to scale infrastructure and further enhance production capacity. During FY 2024–25, shaft hoisting capacity was increased from 8,500 TPD to 10,000 TPD through strategic debottlenecking initiatives, including shaft partitioning for parallel hoisting. Plans are in place to achieve a capacity of 11,500 TPD.
A Life of Mine Sump (LOMP) with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day has been commissioned underground, significantly advancing water management capabilities. Ventilation capacity has been augmented to 2024 m3/sec to improve underground conditions, with additional plans to install a 400 Cum/sec Mine Refrigeration System.
Further, Rampura Agucha Mine is advancing its digital transformation journey through initiatives such as equipment tracking, collision prevention systems, tele-remote equipment operation, and real-time process and service monitoring powered by a central control room.
As a benchmark of underground mining excellence, Rampura Agucha Mine is recognized for its exceptional infrastructure, efficient operations, proactive community engagement, commitment to environmental sustainability, high safety standards, technological innovation, and strong leadership.
In FY 2025, Rampura Agucha Mine commissioned a 4,000 KLD water treatment plant—an exemplary step towards responsible water management and operational efficiency. This initiative aims to reduce freshwater consumption and elevate the net water positivity of Rampura Agucha Mine to 5.5 times.
230 km north of Udaipur in Rajasthan, Rampura Agucha started as an opencast mine in 1991. It’s a massive lens-shaped ore body that has sediment-hosted, high-grade zinc & lead deposits.
The mine boasts advanced mechanization and cutting-edge technology. Employing the Long Hole Open Stoping technique with Paste Fill method in underground mining, we utilize cemented rock and paste-form tailings to backfill mined-out stopes.
Utilizing advanced methods, our processing facilities employ rod mill-ball mill in stream I, SAG mill-ball mill in streams II, III & IV, and flotation for zinc and lead mining. Equipped with cutting-edge automation, including Experion process control, multi-stream analyzer, and froth image analyzer, we ensure accurate readings and quality control.
