Availing Primary Health Care services has always remained a challenge in the rural areas. As a result, cases of poor health of women, malnourishment among children and death from preventable diseases is always high. The need of the hour is thus a two-pronged approach – first to bring quality health care services to doorsteps of the needy and second to promote healthcare awareness among communities.

Mobile Health Vans (MHVs): HZL currently have 4 MHVs covering 110 villages at 4 of its locations in Rajasthan & Uttrakhand. The health care facilities include OPD, special health camps, Awareness sessions through IEC activities (Information, Education, and Communication), and Lab tests. The key highlights and achievements for the year were:

  • Total of 1916 OPD sessions were held providing healthcare to about 84851 patients.
  • 3330 point of care tests were conducted along with 618 ante and Postnatal check-ups
  • 651 villagers were referred to base hospitals in the district.
  • 222 awareness sessions conducted on Anaemia and Women Health, Nutrition, etc. covering 12729 beneficiaries.
  • As per the trend of disease pattern respiratory, Skin/Connective tissue, Musculo Skeletal system were the major disease findings and based on the findings 11 special camps were conducted covering around 1648 people.

Other Health Initiatives –

  • The six Company run hospitals treated over 1,05,200 external patients through the year.
  • Over 21,000 patients were treated at a Homeopathic camp supported by Hindustan Zinc at Gulabpura near Rampura Agucha.
